The lodge

A lakeside lodge in the Cotswolds, sleeps 6 plus toddler (travel cot provided). Includes linen and towels, except for the cot. Fast broadband. Walking distance to pubs and other eateries.

Sonos, DVDs and boardgames. 3 tennis courts, croquet, boules, outdoor chess, a table tennis pavilion, a games room with pool table and a large playground. Free fishing year round. Two beaches for little ones. The next door lake (realoutdoorxperience.co.uk) offers water sports and 10 mins walk is a water ski lake and vibrant Lakeside Brasserie plus gym. The DeVere hotel has a gym and spa, plus a brasserie. The Boathouse Brasserie offers beautiful lakeside views. Relish Cafe plus pizzeria and bar, waffle and donut stand next to the hotel. Up to 2 dogs very welcome (downstairs only). Welcome pack.

The space

Downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, Neff hob and oven, microwave, air fryer, washing machine (small tumble dryer in the understairs cupboard if needed), dishwasher and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. The dining area is for six/8. Outdoor chairs can come in and be utilised if more seating needed. Underfloor heating downstairs. Wall heaters upstairs and fans in bedrooms. Heated towel rails in both the bathroom and shower room.

The open plan sitting room leads to a decking area with a BBQ (please bring your own briquettes/charcoal), large table and chairs, a parasol, and wooden chairs with coffee table. We have gorgeous views of the lake and there is a large lawn area outside the decking leading to the lake, so perfect to spread onto and for children to play and laze on the sun beds.

There is a speed limit of 10 miles an hour on the development so perfect for little people to practice their cycling skills. The shower room with electric shower is next to the kitchen and there is a bathroom with both bath and shower upstairs. There is a very spacious kingsize bedroom, a double bedroom and a twin room.

We have a Sonos speaker in the sitting room so download the App and play your music when you click onto our wifi. We also have a Smart TV with inbuilt Netflix, Prime Video etc. There is a selection of DVDs too if you want to curl up with a cup of tea or glass after a walk or a sailing/water ski session and a good selection of board games for all ages.

You’re welcome to bring your own paddle boards or canoes to use on Windrush lake with access about 100 meters from the lodge. There is also a local paddle board rental centre who will pump up and deliver to/collect from the door. All water sports on the lake are non motorised. The extensive information folder in the lodge has guides to local amenities and what’s on in the area. There are badminton racquets, shuttlecocks, table tennis bats and balls in the lodge for your use, however please bring your own tennis racquets and tennis balls – or these can be borrowed from the staff at the entry barrier.

Fishing is allowed on our lake as well as our neighbouring lake, free of charge, year round. Carp, roach, perch, tench etc. Security staff at the barrier will provide a pass on production of a fishing permit. There is a local fishing shop, The Tackle Den (01285 862716) for all your fishing needs.

Along with the DeVere Cotswold Water Park hotel gym and spa opposite (you will need to contact the hotel direct to book on 01285 864000), there is access to the watersports lake through a gate to the rear of the playground where you can windsurf, paddle board, pedalo, row or just picnic and watch the activity on this beautiful lake. The lodge is a ten minute walk to the buzzing Lakeside Brasserie on Spring Lake (01285 862894), where motorised water sports are offered. Also they have a gym (payable per visit) with the best views over the lake. Watch water skiing while on the cross trainer/weight training etc. They offer an excellent menu and fun filled sports bar. Next to the DeVere hotel there is The Boathouse Brasserie (again wonderful lakeside views), Relish Cafe at the neighbouring Gateway Centre (a must for breakfast/brunch lovers which also offers takeaways) offering a lovely spot for dog walkers to enjoy refreshments with their four legged friends as well as a Pizza van and outdoor bar. Over Christmas and New Year they also have a fabulous ice rink. Cirencester Open Air Pool is a fabulous way to spend the day in the sunshine with the children. Four excellent pubs within 20 minute walking distance along with an incredible asian tapas restaurant, The Waterside Kitchen and Bar.

Cirencester has regular fabulous farmers markets, an array of marvellous pubs and restaurants and the beautiful Cirencester Park is a lovely stroll. Tesco, Waitrose, M&S Foodhall all within 10 minutes drive in Cirencester and a Co-op 5 mins drive in South Cerney. The Cotswold Country Park and Beach is only 7 minutes drive away and a wonderful day can be spent there with the whole family. Apart from the beach, they have a vertical climbing wall, bouncy castles, pedaloes, mini golf etc. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is 30 minutes, Burford 30 minutes (including JC’s Farmers Dog pub), Cheltenham 25 minutes. Bristol 1 hour. Stroud 35 minutes.

Guest access

Check in at 4pm, check out at 10am. Check out can occasionally be extended, with prior arrangement.

Prices start at £165 per night off peak (plus a security deposit of £250 per stay and a £95 cleaning charge – includes all bedding and towels etc).

Other things to note

Baby high chair and cot available. A blow up mattress and extra bedding can be provided at an extra cost.
